The Spring semester brings about testing! In an effort to create a more rigorous Honors program, and to ensure students will be able to compete globally, Watson Chapel Junior High School will administer District Level Assessments (DLA) to all students. Candidates who meet the criteria, if they choose, will be placed in Honors classes based on their test results in a specific or multiple content area(s). The Honors curricula will better prepare students for Advanced Placement courses in high school. The assessments will be administered March 15 -17 . English Language Arts (ELA) will begin testing March 15, Math will begin March 16, and Science is scheduled for March 17. Each assessment will only focus on specific learning targets that have been previously assessed through Common Formative Assessments (CFA’s) or Formative Assessments (FA’s) from August 16 to present. Only the following content areas will be assessed: English, Math, and Science. If you child is proficient in ELA, they will also be able to take Honors Social Studies. Please review the following criteria of expectations to ensure your child/children will be adequately prepared for success. Please check your email for links on what will be assessed and study websites. If you have any questions, please contact the office at (870) 879-4420. You may also email me at uwilson@wcmail.k12.ar.us. Thank you, Uyolanda Wilson, Principal Watson Chapel Junior High School
