Boys Jr. Track Team

The Watson Chapel Jr. High School boys' track team etched their names in school history on Monday, April 15th, 2024, by capturing the River City Conference Championship for the first time in over a decade! The Wildcats delivered a dominant performance, showcasing a well-rounded team effort and individual brilliance.

Leading the charge was Mitchell Rayford, who secured the high point award with a phenomenal showing. Rayford rocketed to victory in both the 100m and 200m dashes, showcasing his blazing speed.  He further solidified his dominance with a second-place finish in the triple jump and a third-place finish in the 110m hurdles.


The team spirit was contagious as Watson Chapel swept the top spots in both the 4x100 (Cortez Pryor, De'Marion Allen, Mitchell Rayford, and Dequan Lawrence)  and 4x400 relays (D'Aundre Hines, Anthony Compton, Bob Love, and Isaiah Vincent). Their success extended to individual events, with Bob Love soaring to first place in the long jump. Braelyn Hughes proved to be a triple threat, claiming first place finishes in the triple jump, 110m hurdles, and 300m hurdles. Isaiah Vincent added another blue ribbon to the tally with his victory in the 400m dash.
